Haiti 2050 is a horizon, not a slogan.
A self-sustaining society is built through thousands of practical decisions: what grows, what gets saved, what skills are shared, and who owns the next step.
The conviction
The difference between surviving and thriving is what a community can build for itself.
HDNF is a small, focused international nonprofit with one clear belief: emergency relief matters, but it cannot be the finish line. The durable answer is knowledge, infrastructure, and local ownership.
Our approach draws from a simple precedent. Victory Gardens helped ordinary people grow a meaningful share of their own food during wartime. The model was not a shipment; it was an invitation, the tools, and the confidence to grow.
In Haiti, that means working with the land and the people who know it. The agronomist may move on. The knowledge stays.
How we think
Knowledge must travel.
Each participant should be able to teach the next neighbor, making the work compound.
